SPRAINS / FRACTURES / DISLOCATIONS
  • Without an x-ray you usually cannot distinguish between a fracture, dislocation, sprain or strain, so always treat as a fracture.
  • DO NOT move the student.
  • Control any bleeding first.
  • Treat for shock.
  • With any ankle injury, DO NOT take shoe off.
  • Splint in position you find injury.
  • Apply splint so it immobilizes the joint above and below the possible fracture.
  • Apply cold pack and elevate injured appendage.
  • Notify parents and school nurse.
  • Call 911 or local emergency response team.
BACK & NECK INJURY - EYE INJURY
HEAD INJURY / HEADACHE - EAR INJURY
SPRAINS / FRACTURES / DISLOCATIONS POISONS
SEIZURES - CHOKING
NOSEBLEEDS / BLEEDING - SHOCK
DIABETIC EMERGENCIES - DENTAL INJURY
BURNS
NAUSEA / VOMITING / ABDOMINAL PAIN / FAINTING
BITES / STINGS / SKIN IRRITATION
EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE
